Stargate Students Soar On State Exams

Seniors Among Highest Scores In Colorado

Stargate School is bursting with pride as it prepares for its first graduating class next spring. The School’s first senior class just earned some of the highest SAT scores in the entire state.

“I am proud of our teachers for challenging our students and taking them to new heights,” said Rob Cable, Principal of Stargate’s secondary school. “I am thankful for our parents/guardians for supporting our students and the work of the school. Most of all, I’m proud of our students for working hard, allowing themselves to be pushed and challenged, not settling for good enough, and always striving to grow.”

In 2018, Stargate’s total mean score on the SAT for its seniors is 1255. The statewide average is 1014. Stargate’s scores ranked third in the entire state out of 513 high schools. Only Liberty Common Charter School and D’Evelyn Senior and Junior High School scored higher than Stargate.

Stargate’s students are outperforming state and district averages on most metrics at all grade levels. For example, students in grades 4-8 are scoring high on achievement and growth—the two key state metrics for that age group. According to the combined test results in English and math for all students in grades 4-8, both Stargate and the District are outpacing state averages.

In the past few years, Stargate’s students experienced high achievement, but low to moderate growth scores. The results for the School’s CMAS, PSAT and SAT testing last spring showed that students continued to experience high achievement, while making great gains in growth.

“We set the bar very high for the students. Our amazing staff took on an incredible challenge to ensure the students achieved the growth they were capable of in both math and English language arts,” said Missy Hischke, Principal of Stargate’s elementary school. “We are blessed to be in a community that supports our teachers and the work they do for the students. To say that I am proud of our students and teachers is an understatement.”

Students in grades 9-11 also distinguished themselves on the PSAT/SAT tests. In reading and writing, Stargate’s students scored an average growth score of 77, while the statewide average score is 50. Cable explained that Stargate recently implemented school-wide writing goals, focusing on constructed responses.

Unfortunately, more than half of all Colorado students in third through eighth grade are below state expectations in reading, writing, and math, according to the statewide tests. For more information about Colorado’s SAT and PSAT scores, please visit

  • Please remember to pull completely forward in the loop.

  • Use the right lane to drop at the K-5.

  • Use the left lane to merge after the VIP spots and drop off at the secondary.

  • The VIP parking spots are an auction item from our annual Gala and are not to be parked in at anytime.

  • The North Lot is for student and staff Permit Parking only. Please remember that we have new student drivers in the north lot. Your patience and grace is much appreciated in keeping our students safe and confident as acclimate to driving.

  • It is not safe to drop off or pick up students from the outside left lanes. Please pull to the curb.

  • Please pay attention and stay off your cell phones during pick-up and drop-off and be patient as we all adjust to the start of a new school year.
