Also, we are focusing on Honesty & Integrity for Character Development during the month of March. Last month, the focus was on Courage. Please encourage your child to always be an "upstander" and have the courage to stand up for one another. At home, I highly encourage talking about always being honest and showing integrity at all times. I always tell the students to do the right thing even when no one is watching. During March, social emotional lessons are focused on Problem Solving with lessons from the Second Step program. Enjoy the gorgeous weather and the opportunities Spring will bring!

CMAS Testing Dates

Dodgeball

Hello Stargate Community!  There has been a change in the Dodgeball dates.  All grades will play in the 11th annual Stargate Dodgeball Tournament on April 6 beginning at 4:00 in the Field House.  You can play on a team or watch your friends, family and teachers play!

Friday, April 6th, 4:00, Elementary students, parents and staff

http://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080f4bafaa23a31-dodgeball

Friday, April 6, 7:00, Middle School and High School students, parents and staff

http://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080f4bafaa23a31-dodgeball1

Teams can practice in the Field House April 3 from 3:45-5:30.

Please register by March 23 by going to the sign-up genius links above.  Teams will be comprised of up to 10 players and must be comprised of consistent grade groupings: K; 1-2; 3-4; 5th; middle school and high school.   Teams will play their own grade group (K; 1-2; 3-4; 5th; middle school and high school).

All teams are due by March 23 with email confirmations to be sent on or before March 30.  Rules, code of conduct and waivers will be sent with the team confirmation.  You can sign up as a team, partial team, or free agent. Partial teams will be completed with free agents.  Each team is required to have one Parent Team Manager.

By April 2, Parent Team Managers should submit the official team name, team payment of $20 (or $2 per player) and all team waivers in an envelope marked with the team name and grade group to the front desk.  If you have an elementary team, please turn in at the elementary front desk. If you have a middle school or high school team, please turn in at the secondary front desk.

First and second place will be awarded to each grade group.  Teams should plan to check in 30 minutes before the start time on Game Day.  Stargate’s very own WATCHDOGS will be the referees.

To reduce the paper waste, sign-ups will be ONLINE ONLY.  If you have questions about the sign-up or need help, please contact CRC at crc@stargateschool.org.

Admission is $1 at the door for spectators.  Student volunteers from Student Council, NJHS, and NHS will be selling concessions with all of the proceeds going to the Stargate Scholars Savings fund.  Two food trucks will be on-site Saturday, Funnels and A Farmer In The Hive.

We hope to see everyone there!

Lost and Found

Please check the lost and found. It is overflowing in all buildings. All items left at Spring Break will be donated to charity.

Stargate Spring Musical - Grease

Here is Rydell High's senior class of 1959: duck-tailed, hot-rodding "T-Birds" and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking "Pink Ladies" in bobby sox and pedal pushers, evoking the look and sound of the 1950s in this rollicking musical. Head "greaser" Danny Zuko and new (good) girl Sandy Dumbrowski try to relive the high romance of their "Summer Nights" as the rest of the gang sings and dances its way through such songs as "Greased Lightnin'," "Born To Hand Jive", "It's Raining on Prom Night," "Alone at the Drive-In Movie", and "Hopelessly Devoted To You", recalling the music of Buddy Holly, Little Richard, and Elvis Presley that became the soundtrack of a generation. An eight-year run on Broadway and two subsequent revivals, along with innumerable school and community productions place Grease among the world's most popular musicals.

Tickets will available online beginning at noon March 19, 2018 Here is the link:  stargateco.booktix.com/

Stargate's First Annual After-Prom Party:

Grab an extra cup of coffee and come volunteer for Stargate's first After-Prom Party.  The After-Prom will be Saturday, April 21st from 11pm - 2am at the field house.  Many volunteers will be needed to make this a fun, safe experience for our kids.  Your kid isn't a junior? That's ok. You can still volunteer to see what After-Prom will look like when your child gets there.  If the late hours won't work for you, we also need volunteers to set up Friday night and Saturday and for clean up on Sunday. Many hands make light work of all the art hanging; if you can spare an hour during Adroit Day, please sign up at  http://bit.ly/ArtHelp .

Art will be on display from April 30-May 11 and our special Art Show Reception is planned for May 3rd from  6-8 pm with food trucks from Fundraising!

Elementary 3-D Art Submissions for Art Show

Hi Parents and Students! We are doing things a little differently this year. I wanted to have every Stargate student involved in the art show this year, so I have been collecting 2-D artwork throughout the school year for the art show. I will collect 2-d work from my third trimester students right before the art show.

Right after Spring Break, we will be collecting 3-D artwork from any and all students.  They can submit one 3-D piece. Please place a piece of tape on their 3-D work with their first and last name and homeroom on it.  Place it on a spot that will not be visible when displayed. We have limited space to display 3-D work, so if we get a ton of entries, we may have to cap it at a certain point.  Every student will have one or two pieces of 2-D work in the show though.

DETAILS:

What?  Elementary 3-D ARTWORK with FIRST and LAST name on it and HOMEROOM

How Much?  ONE PIECE

When?  Can submit it from April 2nd-April 20th

How and Where? Submit pieces by bringing them to the elementary art room (ROOM 148) between the hours of 8 AM and 3:30 PM.  When you bring the work by, you must fill out a label for your artwork.
