Our teachers have been busy setting up classrooms, our office staff has been getting homework and Monday folders ready, our facilities crew has been painting and cleaning the building and remodeling our library space. Now, we are just waiting for students to arrive on Wednesday to get a great school year started. See you tonight!

Rise above,

Missy Hischke

Stargate Elementary Principal

Elementary Back To School Night

Elementary Back To School Night is Monday, August 13 from 5:30 - 7:00 pm. This is a time for you to see the building and meet your student's teachers in a open house style format. You may bring your student’s supplies, learn about our lunch program, meet members of our Board of Directors, and learn about volunteer opportunities at Stargate. If you ordered school supply kits, they have been delivered to the classrooms. If your student has medication in the Health Office, you may also bring the medication and forms.

First Day of School

For the K-5 building, please note that the first day of school is August 15 from 8am to 11:00am. There is no after school care care/Eagle’s Landing on that day. In the morning when your student arrives, grades 1-5 will go to the back of the building (near the playground), Kindergarten students will line up in front of the K-5 building. All teachers will be outside to greet students and make sure they get lined up in the right place. Please be patient as we all get used to the morning drop off process.

New-to-Stargate Parent Meeting with Mrs. Hischke
Please join Mrs. Hischke, Elementary Principal, for coffee and a New-to-Stargate Parent Orientation meeting on Friday, August 17 at 8:15am in the Elementary Commons. She will present information that is helpful to new families as we start a new school year and answer any questions you may have about Stargate Elementary/K-5.

After School Supervision for Siblings and Carpools

Elementary students who have siblings in the Secondary Building may wait with staff supervision in the elementary building from 3PM until 3:35PM (1:30-2:05 on Wednesdays). Complete this online form to register your student.  The students must be picked up either at the pick up/drop off curb by 3:45PM (2:15 on Wednesdays) by either an adult or the sibling/carpool they are waiting for.  Students not picked up by that time will be sent to Eagle's Landing at the drop in fee. There will be a $20 monthly charge per student to staff this additional service. This fee will be assigned to your Student's Infinite Campus  Account, payable on payforit.net and is due the first of each month.

Elementary iReady Assessments

All Elementary students will take a reading and math iReady assessment in August. Students in grades 1-5 will take the assessments between August 16-21. Kindergarten students will take the iReady assessments late August/early September. These iReady assessments are normed assessments that will provide us with information regarding the effectiveness of our curriculum and instruction and provide families a snapshot of how their student is doing among their grade level peers. Students will take iReady assessments again in the spring so we can measure growth over the course of the year.

Assessments

August 23 and 24 are the scheduled assessment days for the elementary building. More information will be coming home to parents in a separate email by the end of this week. Please be on the lookout.

Talent Show
