Kindergarten Graduation Planning Meeting

All Kindergarten parents are welcomed to attend a planning meeting to help with kindergarten graduation. The meeting will start at 3:15 PM in Mrs. Wilson’s classroom. We hope to see you there.

Drop Off and Pick Up

We would like to bring everyone's attention back to safety during morning drop off and afternoon pick up.  There are many kids, ages five and up, walking through the parking lots during pickup and drop off and your full attention to these kids while driving is of utmost importance. Please also remember that you are setting an example for our students with how you drive and how you treat others. Please avoid distracted driving and treating others poorly. If you pick up your student and notice that they are navigating the parking lot in an unsafe manner, please address this with them. Thank you for your help and attention to ensure the safety of all students.

Lost and Found

Please look through the lost and found items this week. All remaining items will be donated to charity after school on Friday. There are many coats, gloves, and hats and we will ask teachers to bring their students down to look for lost items.

Girl Scout Troop 2714 is having a Book Drive-Last week to donate

We need your books! New or gently used. We are collecting books for Federal Heights Elementary. The class that donates the most books will win a pizza party with Girl Scout Cookies!

There will be a box in each classroom labeled Book Drive for any and all donations. The contest/book drive runs from February 27- March 24th. Thank you for any books you can donate.

Kids on the Move

4 Stargate 4th graders, Isabella Nguyen, Audrey Hendershot, Nyonika Dev, Emma D'Onofrio, and Stargate applicant Chandler Davey, coached by Stargate parent Nick Nguyen competed in the Colorado Cup Soccer Tournament, March 4-5th. The girls played hard and won all 3 games (5-2, 7-2, 1-0), qualifying for the Championship game. Despite the high winds and tough competition, the girls persevered to take home the championship trophy with a winning score of 5-0.  Excellent job girls!

Unpacking the Gifted Backpack Presentation

Please join us on Monday, April 10th in the Elementary Art classroom at 6:30 pm for a presentation on what it means to have a gifted child. Lauren Cleary, the K-5 School Counselor, will discuss the following topics:

  • Typical characteristics of being gifted

  • Asynchronicity

  • Gardner's Multiple Intelligences

  • Auditory Sequential vs. Visual Spatial

  • Dabrowski's Overexcitabilities

  • Myths about Gifted Students

  • Potential Problems with Gifted Students

  • Resources

Eagle’s Landing is available for childcare throughout the presentation for children 5+. Please email any questions to Lauren.Cleary@StargateSchool.org

Lions Club Relays

The Lion’s Club Relays will be held on Sunday, May 7th from noon until 4pm at Five Star Stadium. This year, Stargate is going to  try and field all grade levels with at least one team. If there are too many students from one grade, we may have to hold tryouts. Stargate would prefer that all students who sign up, get to run at least one race. Students can race in their own grade, plus up a grade if needed. There are boys, girls and coed races for every grade. Anticipating the cost to be around $10 per student and that would include a race day shirt. We will need a few parent volunteers  to help with practices and also on game day.  For more information, call or text Ken Castaneda at 303-437-1205  Email: ken2728@msn.com

Please plan on attending an informational meeting after school, 3:00pm on Thursday, March 23rd outside the Elementary Building by the picnic tables.

An Uplifting Email from Mrs. Falace to the Staff

Hi Friends,

As I was leaving the building yesterday I saw so many amazing things happening.  I saw a mom with a sewing machine sewing costumes for Beauty and the Beast.  When I got outside it looked like a festival with all the activity going on.

Girls on the Run were meeting on the grass.  An awesome buffet dinner was set up by volunteer parents to feed all involved with the play.  Other groups were on the grass, but I don't know who they were. Then as I was driving out I saw baseball practice at the front of the property.

It gave me such a feeling of pride to be part of this community to see so many different activities going on outside in our beautiful outdoor space. It is truly amazing how this community comes together to support one another and our students!!!  Proud to be a Stargate Eagle!!!

I love our school community and would like to share more moments like this in Hischke’s Happenings. Please send them my way when you have something you would like to share with the greater community.
