We will have an open house tea from 8AM - 9:15AM so feel free to stop by and enjoy some coffee/tea, a snack and student performers as we say “Thanks” for making our school the great place that it is!

This parent led forum will address parenting issues around screen time; for example, how to increase self-control which the film, Screenagers points out is more important indicator of success/happiness than even I.Q.  What “contracts” are you finding successful?  This forum is open to any and all so please sign up here get more information and join us.  If you have any questions please contact Stargate Parent Nancy Bush at Nancy.Bush@stratumcp.com

Math Program Exploration for K-5

Elementary teachers and admin have been exploring the possibility of transition to a unified K-5 Math Curriculum. The goal is to find a rigorous and challenging program that meets the needs of all of our varying ability groups, provides online resources/support for parents, 21st century manipulatives and the ability to assess for learning. The program that the teachers have identified as their top choice is Go Math. Please feel free to stop by the K-5 building to see a comprehensive set of materials including teacher guides, student workbooks, manipulatives, assessments and other resources. I will also be reviewing our process for selection with the governance board at our next meeting on May 17th at 6:30pm in the Secondary building.

Elections for two board seats begins today through next May 8 at 4 pm (note extended time for voting). Ballot instructions will come home today either in your child’s Monday Folder (Elementary) or via mail (Secondary).  Voting will be done via the simply voting website. Candidate biographies and information on the voting process can be found here. Contact the election committee at electioncommittee@stargateschool.org if you have any questions or trouble with your ballot instructions. Please remember to exercise your right to vote – this is how you participate in the school’s operations!

Art Show

What an amazing 2017 art show and reception to showcase Stargate kids’ creative talents!  Many thanks to Jan Weingardt and her committee for planning and organizing the event, hanging the art and working at the reception.  The 7West Pizza food truck was a hit and are contributing $150 to Stargate!  Thank you to our art teachers, Arrilla Beatty & Lucas Thomas for their commitment to the show and to Mrs. Ariane Pegler for arranging musicians - what a treat!  As always, we have to thank our administrative staff for helping CRC in every way they can.  It takes a village and the kids are worth it!
