As was reported in last week’s StarNews, I am very proud of our students and staff for their achievement and growth on last year’s standardized assessments. I am especially proud of our current senior class for achieving the 3rd best school SAT score in the state.

Counseling Updates:

The PSAT 9 & PSAT 10 test booklets from the 2017-2018 school year are available for pick up in the main office. Please see the front office staff for your booklet!

The counseling department is beginning a new college campus visit program called Bus to College! We will be scheduling several campus visits throughout the school year to a variety of college campuses. All of the visits will be posted in Naviance titled "Bus to College" followed by the name of the school we will be attending. Each visit will have a capped number of students allowed to attend (for example, 50 students). It is on a first come first serve basis. These trips will occur instead of the whole class trips that we have taken in the past. These visits are open to all high school students grades 9-12! Students are allowed to attend a maximum of TWO college visits each school year. In order to attend students must sign up on Naviance. Once students sign up on Naviance, find Mrs. Meeks to get your permission slip and turn in the completed permission slip to her by the due date stated on the form. You must sign up on Naviance prior to getting a permission slip.

Our first Bus to College will be on October 4th to the Colorado School of Mines, the first 38 students to sign up in Naviance will attend.

Senior Class Yearbook Baby Ads

The time has come for our inaugural Stargate High School class to graduate! We are so proud of our seniors and we're sure you are to. One way to tell them how proud you are is to buy a senior baby ad for the yearbook! We have created sixteen templates for you to choose from at very competitive prices! If you'd like to order a baby ad, it is a simple, three-step process:

  • 2. Send photos to

  • 3. Pay through IC Payforit once the charge has been added to your account (allow up to five business days for this charge to appear)

Please make sure to follow the instructions on the form carefully and to complete all three steps. All baby ad orders must be received by November 1 and paid for by November 15. Any orders or payments received after these deadlines will not be accepted. If you have any questions, you can email Ms. vonHilsheimer at
