Secondary Finals December 18-21

In an effort to maximize student success and minimize student stress and anxiety, our finals schedule is spread-out over four days and, as indicated in our school calendar published last spring, December 19th, December 20th, and December 21st will be half days (8:15 am - 11:30 am). This schedule allows students to have no more than two finals each day, and extra time to prepare for finals/decompress in the afternoon on December 19th and December 20th. Please make arrangements for your student to be picked up by noon on December 19th, December 20th and December 21st. Also remember that students do not have class on Friday, December 22nd. Please access the detailed finals schedule here.

Secondary School Finals Expectations
Core subjects - It is the expectation that every core class (math, science, social studies, and English) give an assessment during their designed time during finals week. Assessments may include a project, presentation, paper or exam.
Elective subjects -  A final assessment may be given at teacher discretion, but is not required of all electives teachers to administer a final. Assessments may include a project, presentation, paper or exam.

Parent/Guardian tips for Finals Week

Please bring your family and enjoy the wonderful performances and hard work of our incredible students!

If you are interested in speaking to high school students regarding your current or past career field(s), please complete our short form (Stargate High School Career Nights Volunteer Form). Once all forms are completed, the career field options will be given to the students and you will be contacted if your field was selected. Completing the form does not guarantee you will be contacted, but will provide us with a database of potential speakers for this year and future years.
Each evening session will be broken into 2-4 periods of approximately 30 minutes (depending on number of students interested). If selected, we ask that participants plan to speak for 15-20 minutes in each of the periods. The last 10-15 minutes in each period will be Question/Answer.
We plan to host the first Career Night in January from 6:30pm-8:30pm (dates based on your responses to the form).
Please share the link to this form with anyone you think may be interested. THANK YOU!!! Still have questions? email Dena Kemp at

Keyboards Needed for Music Theory Class

The Stargate Community, do you have any musical keyboards that aren't being used?  The high school music theory class needs your keyboards next semester.  In class, the students will need to demonstrate and understand how to incorporate music theory and the best way to teach this is by using keyboards.  If you can please donate your keyboard to Mrs. Pegler in the Secondary building.  The keyboards should be 3-4 octaves and should be able to plug in and also have a place for batteries.  If it includes a music stand with it, even better but not necessary.  Please drop off by December 20th.   If you have any questions, please email me at:
