A special message from Mr. C

WOW! I am still blown away by the awesomeness that was last week's Adroit Expo! In our first ever passion project expo, the students, staff, community members and Officer Mendez' band did not disappoint. The incredible effort and depth that was presented in each individual and group project was overwhelming. I knew that our students and staff were amazing but this took it to a whole new level! I am thankful for everyone who worked so hard and made this incredible day possible! I hope to make this special experience an annual event that will support our work in Adroit and encourage students and staff alike to use the design thinking process and always be Hands On Minds On!

Our High School Band and Orchestra competed at the Winter Park Music Festival the second weekend in April. We were given an Outstanding rating.  In addition, our Orchestra earned Best in Class and the Band earned Runner Up. Great job High School Band and Orchestra!

Our MS Orchestra went to the CHSAA Festival on April 12th in Colorado Springs and had an incredible performance .  The Orchestra earned straight I ratings, the highest you can get.  According to their rating system a Superior is a total points of 14-19 and they earned a 17, 18 and a 19 from the judges.  On sight reading, they earned a 19 and were given the most difficult sight reading level from the judge.

Stargate's Science Olympiad team competed at the State Competition at Colorado School of Mines on Saturday April 15 and placed 11th overall in the State of Colorado.  This is the best that Stargate has ever done at the State level for Science Olympiad!  We also managed to take 1st place gold medals in two of the events this year at State: Anoushka Jani and Megha Kumar in Food Science and Kelly McVeigh and Sydney Heys in Write It-Do It (Technical Writing).

Middle School Tech Free Thursday

Every Thursday until the end of the year, we are implementing Middle School Tech Free Thursday before school and at lunch. This will not impact classes and students will still be expected to have their computers in class, ready to use when directed.

Before school and at lunch we are going to encourage all middle school students to have conversations with their classmates and/or go outside rather than use technology. If your student tends to spend lunch time on their computer, please have a conversation with them about what else they can do on Thursday. You can suggest that they bring a deck of cards to play or take a walk around the grassy quad area between all the buildings. You can give them some conversation starters or encourage them to learn one new thing about each of their friends each Thursday. Screen Shot 2017-04-03 at 9.58.31 AM.png
