I am so excited to continue teaching at Stargate for my 4th year!  I could not ask for a better school, staff, students, and community to be involved with everyday here at Stargate!  I have been involved with Stargate since my son Anthony started Kindergarten.  He is now going into 8th grade (crazy!).  I graduated from Regis University with a BA in Secondary Education Social Sciences.  I graduated Magna Cum Laude, and as President of two of Regis University’s Honors Societies - Alpha Sigma Lamda and Lamda Pi Eta.  In addition, I am a Member of Alpha Sigma Nu - A Jesuit University Honor Society that accepts only 1,500 people a year world-wide based on scholarship, loyalty, and service.  I also hold my Gifted & Talented Specialist Endorsement.  I was born and raised in Colorado, and not far from Stargate, so this community is truly my home and very close to my heart.  In my spare time I love spending time with my amazing family, reading, watching documentaries, doing lots of projects around the house, and many other things!  I also enjoy leading charity drives for local charities and families in need and volunteering where my time and skills are needed.  I am SO excited to spend the year with you and your children!

I have always wanted to be a teacher since I was a little girl.  I remember when I was little I would force my little brother and neighbors to sit with my stuffed animals in my bedroom and play school together while I was the teacher.  My love and appreciation for teachers and teaching grew stronger throughout my life.  There are so many things I love about teaching, but I genuinely enjoy the middle school age.  That age is so special because they are learning so about who they truly are and want to become.  I love coming up with lessons and activities to that make the lessons click, connect, and count for each of my students.  In addition, it is important to me that students learn more than just content, but kindness, compassion, responsibility, respect, and more.  I like holding them to high expectations, pushing them to think and work hard, and achieving things and skills they may have never thought were possible.

As the STUCO Advisor, I am in charge of all STUCO members, events, and activities.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns regarding STUCO.

My grading turnaround time is pretty quick, usually a couple of days after the due date.  This way students can get timely and effective feedback.  You will have access to their notes I leave on their assignments in IC.  It is important they hand their work in on time in order to learn the content, learn responsibility, keep up with the work, and achieve their goals.  I post grades to IC once the assignment is graded.  It is the student's responsibility to check IC often in order to check their grades, see what is missing etc.  The students will have quite a few assignments, so they need to be utilizing all the available resources to help ensure their continued successes.

The syllabus will provide a general outline of the year along with an outline of general policies and procedures.
