Mr. Marchand

About Me

I have taught in District 12 since 1982.  My career started at Pecos Junior High School in Northglenn teaching the life sciences to seventh and ninth graders and coaching all year long starting with football and ending in track and field! After 10 years at Pecos, I took a Chemistry position at Horizon HS and continued to coach football as well.  After a two year stint in the Deans office, I decided to change schools once again and be part of the opening of Legacy High School where I went back to the classroom and taught chemistry for the last 10 years before retiring in 2012. After retirement I was a substitute teacher at Legacy until a chemistry position opened at Stargate High School. I am now starting my second year at Stargate and look forward to creating new memories with your sons and daughters.
I have a very supportive wife of 35 years and 3 grown children who all live close to home!  Some of my interest include construction/remodeling, walking the dog and flyfishing when I can get away! Watching the Broncos and CSU Rams on a weekend with some homemade smoked ribs is one of my favorite pastimes as well!

What I Love about Teaching

Over the course of my career the thing I like most about teaching is the energy and enthusiasm the students bring to the learning environment!  That energy encourages me to do the same!  Teaching has always been a high energy activity for me and this approach has served me well over the years. The relationships made during the course of every new year are truly remarkable and cherished and I look forward to creating more memories with my students here at Stargate!

Other important information:

I am currently teaching Honors Chemistry periods 2 and 4 at Stargate.  Since I am a part time teacher, I will be out of the building on Thursdays and most afternoons.  If students are interested in extra help, arranging before school time will work best.
