Ms. Halnier

About Me:

I am new to Stargate, and very excited to be here, though I'm not new to teaching. I have been a teacher in various capacities for more than twenty years. I'm certified in secondary social studies and technology education. At the high school level, I've taught US History, Psychology, Gifted Seminar, World History and Computer Technology. I've been a gifted case manager and a technology TOSA, as well.
My undergraduate degree is in history, from Appalachian State University, and I have a Master's degree in technology education from Walden University.
I travelled and taught around the world, then raised three children in the Four Corners of Colorado and New Mexico, and recently moved back to Denver for good.
My hobbies include hiking with my dogs, recycling and composting, and doing anything outdoors, (skiing, rafting, biking, camping, swimming).

What I Love about Teaching:

Gifted students think and learn in a way that I relate to, and it makes the process enjoyable. I like the relationship I have with my students and feel very satisfied being part of their education and personal growth.
