About Me

My name is Lauren Gibson and I recently moved from Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. In 2008, I graduated with a bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Iowa. In 2010, I graduated with a master's degree in elementary education and became a first grade teacher in a small 4K-8 grade school Lake Geneva, where I taught for six years. While teaching, I pursued another master's degree in counseling and taught four-year-old kindergarten while completing my counseling internship and graduated in 2016. My husband, Tyler, has been wanting to move back to Colorado (he graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder) ever since he moved home. After many visits to Colorado, he finally convinced me that I could survive without a huge lake during the school year! We now live in Denver and I absolutely love everything about the gorgeous state of Colorado!

I am extremely optimistic, adventurous and full of energy! I am not afraid to try something new in life! Outside of school, you will find me outside doing something awesome! I love watersports, tennis, traveling, exploring, cooking, eating, writing, and doing anything that involves being near water! Sitting down for long periods of time is not ideal for me! If I could have any superpower, I would choose teleportation so that I could travel to new places all the time. Life is definitely an adventure and I look forward to whatever comes next!

What I Love about Being a Counselor
Every day is completely different and I really enjoy everything about being a counselor! It is absolutely amazing to watch the kids grow and change throughout the school year. I love being challenged and knowing that I can make a             difference means the world to me! I look forward to an awesome year at Stargate!
