Policies / Handbook

School policies are provided in the Community Handbook, a reference guide for parents, students and staff. Community members are asked to read all parts of the document and discuss them with your child(ren) so that you may be fully informed of any/all changes and applicable district policies.

Policies outlined in the Community Handbook may be accessed via the links below (see table) or by downloading the Community Handbook from the Forms and Files directory (see left hand navigation). Additional policies and resources can also be found on the Forms and Files directory.

About the Handbook
The Community Handbook is dedicated to the people of Stargate School, our teachers, staff, parents and students, who make our school a place of excellence, dynamic learning and fun. At the request of the Adams 12 Five Start District and for your convenience, we have included district 12 policies in the Community Handbook. Where these policies are inserted within the general content, we have clearly labeled them as such and italicized them. Miscellaneous policies are listed alphabetically at the end of the booklet.

NonDiscrimination Equal Opportunity Policy Stargate School (the “School”) is committed to providing a safe learning and work environment where all members of the school community are treated with dignity and respect. The School is subject to all federal and state laws and constitutional provisions prohibiting discrimination on the basis of disability, race, creed, color, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, religion, ancestry or need for special education services. Accordingly, no otherwise qualified student, employee, applicant for employment or member of the public shall be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any school program or activity on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, age, sex, (which includes marital status), sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or need for special education services. Discrimination against employees and applicants for employment based on age and genetic information is also prohibited in accordance with state and federal law. This policy shall be used to address all concerns regarding unlawful discrimination and harassment, and any related retaliation for having engaged in activity protected by the civil rights laws that prohibit discrimination, including harassment.
