About Me

Welcome to Kindergarten at Stargate! I look forward to teaching your children. I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am from Orlando, Florida, where I attended the University of Central Florida and graduated with a BS degree in Elementary Education. This will be my 14th year teaching Kindergarten.  My family and I moved to Broomfield in June 2012 and we have thoroughly enjoyed Colorado. I have 3 daughters, 2 dogs, one cat, and a very patient husband. My oldest daughter is a sophomore at CU (Go Buffs), my middle is entering her sophomore year at Broomfield High, and my youngest daughter is in sixth grade at Broomfield Heights Middle. Right behind my # 1 passion, teaching kindergarten, I also LOVE running, hiking, and spending time with my family. Of course… I am a Bronco’s fan and my favorite season is Fall. I am eager to begin my second year at Stargate!

I believe that positive communication is key to a great parent-teacher relationship. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time. You can send me a note, set up a conference, or email me at Katie.wells@stargateschool.org.

Thank you,

Mrs. Wells

What I Love about Teaching

I’ve known since third grade that I would be a teacher. Teaching has been a life-long passion of mine and Kindergarten is where I’m meant to be. In Kindergarten everything is new and exciting! It is a place of discover and wonder.  Children are constantly learning and growing both socially and academically. I love to witness their growth from August through May –They never fail to amaze me. Not to mention, Kindergarteners are funny and they think I’m funny too! Life is good in Kindergarten! I hope to make a positive impact on each student, and instill a LOVE of LEARNING that lasts a lifetime. I truly feel I have the best job on Earth and that’s why I LOVE TEACHING!
