It's official! Yesterday, Stargate was awarded an Adams County Open Space Grant in the amount of $137,500!! This money will be used to create a Nature Trail on the east side of the campus and add amenities throughout the campus. We are so excited to get started on this project! I once again want to thank the Stargate community for all of the amazing support provided to us in our efforts to get this grant, and congratulate all of the Grant Committee members for their hard work and dedication for the last year and a half to make this a reality! You can follow progress of the Nature Trail on the "Improvement Projects" section of the Stargate website

A post to update our wonderful community about the Adams County Open Space Grant: Tonight was the Open Space Advisory Board (OSAB) recommendation meeting, and the exciting news is that they are recommending that we receive funds for the nature trail and campus amenities! Though they are not recommending that we receive the funds for our greenhouse at this time, we can (and will!) apply for this grant again. In the meantime, the Grant Committee will continue to seek other grants...

A view of just some of the wonderful members of our community who came out tonight to support the Grant Committee during our presentation for the Adams County Open Space Grant! We have such an amazing community here at Stargate, and I want to thank everybody who came out to support us and speak on our behalf, and everybody who was sending good thoughts our way tonight. I also want to commend Teresa Walsh on giving an amazing presentation! If we receive this grant, it will be an incredible opportunity for our school to add beautiful outdoor education spaces and amenities to our campus. There are still a few steps in the process, and we should know by early May if we are successful. We will keep the community updated on the results!

As I have previously posted, we are applying for nearly $400,000 through the Adams County Open Space grants. The next step in grant application process is the Advisory Board Site Visit. The Advisory Board will come to Stargate tomorrow (Saturday Feb 25) for ten minutes to see our campus -- where, if we receive the money, the greenhouse will be built and where the nature trail with exercise stations and art exhibition spaces will be installed.
It would be AWESOME to have lot...

Another big THANK YOU from the Grant Committee - thank you to everyone who came out to show the support of our community during the Open Space Advisory Board visit today! I know it was very cold, but it was well worth it. They were very impressed - we heard that we "really know how to put on a show" and a thank you for treating them "like Rock stars"! I know that the enthusiasm of our community is making a great impression for how much we deserve this grant. I also want to thank Mr. C, Mr. Cable, Doug Ryan, Ms. Mansure's Community Spaces class, and my fellow Grant Committee members Teresa Walsh and Mala Gosakan for everything they did to make the visit this morning so fantastic!!

Just a reminder that the Grant committee presents its grant application to the Open Space Advisory Board tomorrow at 5:30 pm. That is the Adams County Rec & Open Space Building. If we receive the grant we will be able to build a nature trail with spaces for exercise equipment and public display of art. 1/20/17 - Stargate Supporters Discussion Group - Facebook Community page update by Teresa Walsh

The Grant committee is working on an application for an Adams County Open Space Grant. We are seeking funds to build a 1.5 mile nature trail and build a greenhouse. As part of the application we must submit letters in support of our request. The trail and greenhouse will be available for community groups. If you are part of an organization that would benefit from Stargate building a nature trail and/or greenhouse and would be willing to write a letter in support of the application, please PM me and I can give you more information. The Grant application has to be ready to submit by January 28.

I realize this is short notice but I wanted to let everyone know that I sent a letter to the City of Thornton, specifically to Mayor Williams, to request the City Council provide a letter of support for our application for Adams County Open Space Grant for funds to build a nature trail and greenhouse. They previously provided a letter of support to Westgate charter school for a smaller but somewhat comparable project.

Good news. The City of Thornton will write a letter in support of our Adams Coubty Open Space grant application. The application will be submitted on Feb 1st. We will formally present before the Rec Board on Feb 22. Community members are welcome and can make brief comments in support of our application. Plenty of notice this time, save the date! The meeting is at the Adams County Fair Grounds at 5:30.

Adams 12 Bond - Passage

With the successful passage of the Adams 12 Bond, we will have over $5 million dollars that can be spent on Capital Construction needs. The money cannot be spent on paying for our
existing building or on staff salaries/benefits. The governance board and I would love your feedback as to what type of capital construction needs you would like for Stargate to invest in.
We will hold a community engagement night on January 11th at 5:30PM in the Secondary Commons. If you are unable to attend the 11th, please feel free to submit ideas electronically by

Adams 12 Bond on November Ballot

posted Apr 13, 2017, 11:47 AM by Lisa Griffin   [ updated Apr 13, 2017, 12:07 PM ]

10/31/16 - C Notes update

Adams 12 Bond - The Adams 12 Five Star Schools Board of Education approved the placement of a $350 million bond on the November ballot at no tax rate increase to residents. The 2016 Bond proposal (Ballot Issue 3D) provides funding to Adams 12 Five Star Schools and will impact every student, school and community. A bond is a voter-approved funding source that is used for capital improvements such as building repairs or new schools and cannot be used for salary or operational needs. The funding that Stargate received for our expansion was from private bonds that we must pay back out of our operating dollars over the next 30 years. If the Bond passes Stargate will receive over $5.1 million dollars that we could use toward additional improvements and upgrades to our new campus.

July 20, 2016

Good evening Stargate Family,

It is with extreme pleasure and excitement that we are able to officially announce the sale of our former school building!

This afternoon, the Cottonwood Lakes campus was sold to the Archdiocese of Denver.

I would like to give a HUGE shout out to Doug Ryan, Ed Love and their entire maintenance crew for taking such good care of our facility over the past 14 years. I would also like to thank the Stargate Foundation, Stargate Governing Board and Finance Committee for their dedication to this important step in our expansion project.

This has been quite the journey for our school and I cannot wait for all the new memories our families will make at our new campus.

See you all August 23rd at 4:30PM for our Grand Opening Celebration!
