Help Needed - Online Volunteer Job Postings

Welcome to Stargate's online job board, your one-stop-shop for Volunteer Opportunities. Just click on the links below to learn more about ways you can help "hold the rope" for our students and teachers. You can sign up for specific days and times that work for your schedule. No matter how much or little time you can give, your volunteer service is needed and appreciated.

Why Volunteer?
  • Stargate volunteers play a critical role in taking our intellectually gifted learners as far as they can go.
  • Becoming more involved in your children's education is rewarding and a lot of fun!
  • Family participation in education was as much as twice as predictive of students' academic success as family socioeconomic status. Some of the more intensive programs had effects that were 10 times greater than other factors. Source - Walberg in his review of 29 studies of school-parent programs.
  • A vibrant, fun learning community requires engaged parents willing to contribute their time and talents.
Note: the online job board is a work in progress. It may take a few months to transition all of our sign-ups to a central location. If the link you need isn't active yet, you can ask your teacher about volunteer opportunities or send an email to recruiting@stargateschool.org.

  • Art Studio - Email Arrilla Beatty directly at arrilla.beatty@stargateschool.org if you are able to volunteer. All Art volunteers will need to be able to:
    • Attend a 20 minute volunteer training with me before assisting in the classroom
    • Remain calm in a noisy classroom with lots of messes
    • Art background is not required, but greatly appreciated!
    • Comfortable with cleaning, organizing, and refilling supplies as needed

Other tasks that Mrs. Beatty will sometimes need assistance with include; hanging artwork out in the hall, cutting paper, or refilling glazes. Please know that although these aren’t the most exciting things, it is extremely helpful. When you are here, my focus is on the kids and teaching the art curriculum. Please know that my responsibility and attention will be 100% focused on the students. This can be a very loud environment when kids are actively engaged in projects. Please know that it is important for volunteers to be prepared for that, and to understand that the art room isn’t always a typical classroom because it is a place where students are more freely expressing themselves.
