2018 Stargate Annual Campaign

Dear Stargate families and friends,

At Stargate Charter School, we’ve spent more than 20 years building a nurturing and thoughtful educational community for intellectually gifted learners and their families. It is a place where academic excellence is valued, and learning is celebrated as a lifelong process. We support the unique academic and social needs of each student, and encourage students to share their passions and values with openness and civility. Choosing Stargate as your family’s school of choice shows your investment in your student’s education. We ask you to consider investing in that education with a financial donation to Stargate during our Annual Campaign.

As a charter school, Stargate receives funding provided through Federal, State and local District funds based on enrollment levels on a per pupil basis. In Colorado, charter schools receive ~20% less funds per pupil than their traditional counterparts for school operations. To cover the difference, Stargate has three major fundraising efforts: (1) the Annual Campaign, (2) the Fall Fundraiser, and (3) the Spring Gala. All three fundraising efforts must be successful to meet the difference. The goal of our Annual Campaign is to bridge that gap as much as possible; it is the one fundraiser that we ask EVERY family to support.

Money from this important campaign supplements our funding gap by supporting the purchase of classroom supplies, instructional materials, technology updates, lunch tables, auditorium seating, and everything in between. The Stargate Annual Campaign is an opportunity to show your support by making a one-time gift OR sign up for a monthly recurring deduction using our secure, online donation page located here. Please consider a tax deductible donation of $300 per family as an investment that will benefit our children for years to come.

Our families come from diverse and varying economic backgrounds. Our hope is that each family reflects on their experience at Stargate and makes a contribution that is meaningful and significant to them.  Alternatively, each family has the opportunity to volunteer - we recommend a minimum of 1-2 hours per month or 15-20 hours per school year - or to combine a monetary donation with volunteer time. Our goal is 100% participation in the Annual Campaign – every gift matters, especially yours, as we work every day to secure a brighter future for our community.

Many companies match charitable donations; we encourage you to explore if your company provides this benefit. If you have questions about matching gifts, please contact the Stargate Chief Financial Officer, Lynne Allen, at 303-450-3936 or via email at lynne.allen@stargateschool.org.

Every student counts. Every gift counts. Every dollar donated to Stargate stays at Stargate.

With gratitude,
