Are you new to Stargate? Not sure where to go, what to ask, where to find your teacher, or even locate the bathroom? Then this is the webpage for you! First of all, WELCOME To Stargate! We are glad to have you as part of our wonderful community dedicated to our students. That being said, we know it can be a bit overwhelming at first, and we would like to answer many of your questions on this page. We are here to support you!
This page may not give you everything you need to know, but should get you going in the proper direction. Layout of Classes One of the many unique things about Stargate is the fact that most classrooms (with the exception of kindergarten) are comprised of multiple grade levels. For example, you'll find First and Second Grade, Third and Fourth Grade, Fifth Grade and Middle School (Grades 6-8) and High School (Grades 9-12). This allows students to be placed, within their age range, in the classes which will most benefit their learning experience.
The teachers within each grade work in teams to obtain information regarding your student's specific needs. The Community Portal navigation, at the top of this website, has tabs to take you to the Team Page where you will find information about the team, their practices and logistical information specific to each grade.
From the Team pages, you can drop down and chose a particular teacher's profile page where you can learn about them and see their blogs (information from the teacher to parents). You will also find contact information for the teacher (email, phone, etc.).
Grades Adams 12 utilizes a secure parent and student site, called Infinite Campus (access on the left of this page). Infinite Campus shows grades, in real time, updated by the teachers. It also includes notices from the district to students and other confidential student information. A user name is required to access Infinite Campus, to obtain a username, or reset a login, please contact info@stargateschool.org. School Start and Dismissal Times
My Student is Going to Be Absent Please call (303)-450-3936 (press #1 for the Stargate Attendance line) before 8:00 am the day of your student's absence. There is a 24-hour messaging system available; please leave your student name, grade, and teacher's name (Elementary only) as well as the date(s) and reason for the absence on the recording. What are My Options for Transportation or Carpool? Stargate does not provide transportation to or from the school. However, you can explore carpool options on your own through a ride arrangers service called Way to Go. If you're in the Broadlands area, you may want to join a group of parents who've privately contracted for a fee-based bus service to/from Stargate. To learn more, click here. What Do I Do During Inclement Weather?
Snow days rarely occur but when they do, you want to know everything. As such, we have dedicated an entire page to snow day information. To get to the page click here. Please note, your student may not be allowed outside on inclement days without boots, warm jackets, etc.
What are my Lunch Options?
Stargate kids bring their lunch or purchase their lunch via the lunch purchase program website, which can be found on the Lunch Page (to the left). Students will eat, with their class, in the commons. I Forgot to Drop off My Child's Lunch, Backpack, Coat, etc. (Elementary School only)
We know mornings can get busy, and sometimes items need to be dropped off, please bring the item, labeled, to the front desk. It is not necessary to call first. There will be two delivery times: 9am and 2pm. Students will be notified of dropped off lunches and they may come to the front office to pick them up. Please note 3rd-5th grade do not allow homework drop-offs after school has begun. How Do I Volunteer? Our school is made great due to the help of our Parent and Grandparent community. Each teacher has different needs regarding volunteers and classroom celebrations, click here. All volunteers need to sign up or be scheduled. For security, if you are scheduled to volunteer during the day, or during a school celebration, please stop by the front desk with your picture ID. You will be provided a building pass, which should be displayed prominently on your person at all times. Please be sure to checkout at the front desk when leaving the building. Where Can I Find a Summary of School Rules and Policies? The Community Handbook is designed as a comprehensive resource for families. It's updated every year. You can find the latest edition on the Policies/Handbook page, accessible via the left hand navigation. Staying informed - Blogs and Newsletters Our school newsletters C-Notes, Hischke's Happenings! and Cable Connection, are published and emailed to our parents through Infinite Campus messenger. You can also read this on our News and Announcements page. In addition, each Elementary teacher posts a blog for each subject they teach. View your teacher's pages to see their blogs at the bottom of their pages. If you are familiar with RSS feeds, you can subscribe for RSS feeds with your smart phone or browser by selecting the "Subscribe to Posts" link on the detailed blog page for each subject for each Elementary teacher. Look at the blog links at the very bottom of the teacher pages to go to the detail blog pages that are being published for that teacher. To learn more about RSS feeds, go to the FAQs for the Website page. Secondary teachers use Google Classroom.
