About Me
I have been teaching at Stargate since 2005.  Before coming to Stargate I taught first and second grade at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School in Boulder for seven years. This year marks the beginning of my 31st year in education, and my 14th year at Stargate!!. I have also been a Girl Scout leader, substitute teacher and paraprofessional at my children's school when they were elementary age.  My husband and I have been married for 39 years, have three grown daughters, all three married.  We also have been blessed with 3 beautiful grandchildren.    Austin, who is a first grader at Stargate, Peyton who spends her time keeping up with big brother, and our 10 month old granddaughter, Josie who is so very close to walking already!!   When I have free time I enjoy spending it with my grandchildren, traveling with my husband, reading, crocheting and sewing. I also enjoy singing in my church's 4 part choir weekly. Sewing for my grandchildren is my eternal passion project.  I might even get a thing or two made for myself or the classroom!

What I Love about Teaching
I love when children come to school every day full of excitement to learn new information!  That is what is so unique about Stargate students, they have such a hunger for learning and knowledge, that is is a joy to teach every day.  I like to tell my students stories about when my daughters were young and some of the crazy things they did as elementary students.  There is an energy that emanates from gifted students that is very contagious!  It is hard not to catch that enthusiasm and it is what keeps me in the classroom and loving my career choice and "my kids," old and new!
