Mrs. Jennifer Hanna

Family CollageAbout me ~ I'm a gifted and talented specialist with over fifteen years teaching experience in North Carolina, California, and Colorado.  I attended Iowa State University for three years, then transferred to University of North Carolina at Charlotte where I received my BA in Early Childhood Education; I couldn’t wait to start teaching!  I taught 5th grade for three years in California at a gifted school before moving to Colorado.  My first teaching job in Colorado was teaching 5th grade at a charter school, then as an online teacher for Colorado Virtual Academy, and finally accepting a position as a 3/4 teacher at Stargate in 2007.  I received my Gifted Specialist teaching license in 2012 and am currently working towards my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction which I will complete in June 2019. This is my twelfth year teaching at Stargate. I also enjoy sponsoring the school-wide Geography Bee, judging the Spelling Bee, and coaching Girls on the Run. In my free time I enjoy learning to golf, travel, and scuba diving.

I have been a member of the Stargate community for sixteen years.  My oldest daughter graduated from Stargate in 2012 and is a junior at CSU.  My second oldest daughter is a freshman at Colorado Mesa University and is an active participant in cross country and track.  My son is in 10th grade at Legacy and enjoys participating in sports such as football and track and is also a former Stargate student.  I have an eight year old who attends 3rd grade at Stargate; she enjoys gymnastics, dance, piano, and participating in Girl Scouts.  I love being a part of our special community as a parent, teacher, and coach.
