About Me

My name is Christopher Sergeeff [sir-jeff]. I was born and raised in Colorado. I am 40 years young. My wife and I have a beautiful baby girl named Laynie who is now 16 months old as we begin this school year.

I attended the University of Northern Colorado straight out of high school in 1996 but only finished 2 1/2 years. I decided to begin working directly in my field of acting and chose to leave college to pursue my acting career in New York City. I set out goals when I moved there September 1st 2001. Over the past 16 years I was able to perform in Broadway National Tours such as Mamma Mia! and West Side Story, Off-Broadway shows and pre-Broadway workshops, television shows such as Law and Order, several movies and countless regional theaters across the country including the Kennedy Center in D.C. and the Metropolitan Opera in NYC. After achieving all the goals I set for myself, I have now decided to teach theatre and music at the secondary level.

I began my college studies as a Musical Theater major with an acting emphasis. I also took several dance classes throughout my school and professional careers. I specialize in circus arts, learning the art of clowning, stage combat, juggling, puppetry and even some David Copperfield-esque stage magic. I worked for five years as a diver and male stunt at the famous Casa Bonita in Denver where I eventually took over as Entertainment Manager. My duties were to audition, hire and train the new divers and talent to create the magic and atmosphere that everyone has loved over the years. I believe those experiences combined with my 20 years of professional experience as an Actor’s Equity Association and Screen Actors Guild union member will be an invaluable tool for the young people I intend to teach. In the past I have also been active in directing and choreographing summer intensive theatre camps for kids ranging in age from 8-17 for the Mountain Playhouse in Pennsylvania.

What I Love about Teaching
I absolutely love creating positive relationships with students and creating a safe place for them to explore the world of theatre and music without fear of judgement. Nothing is better than seeing the discovery happen in students' hearts, minds, and faces when things start to click for them.
