Hola padres! It's hard to believe this is the last week of the year. My time with my first graders has flown by and I will miss them SO much next year. I am comforted by the fact that they will be in such capable hands with our new Spanish teacher and I can't wait to come back and visit! This week in first grade Spanish we will be finishing up with travel/shopping vocabulary and celebrating a successful trimester with our end of class fiesta! The list for this week is as follows:
  • trae (try-ay): he/she carries
  • se quita (say kee-tah): he/she takes off
  • los pantalones (pan-tah-loe-nays): pants
  • cuesta (kway-stah): it costs
  • los zapatos (zah-pah-tose): shoes
  • la chaqueta (cha-keh-tah): jacket
Learning Objectives:
1) Students will be able to match clothing words with pictures in Spanish on a review packet.
2) Students will celebrate a successful trimester in Spanish with an end of the year fiesta!

On Monday, I will present the travel/shopping words, we will do some storytelling and students will complete a review packet.

On Wednesday, we will have our end of the trimester fiesta!

On Friday, we do not have school due to a Professional Development Day. Have a great summer!!! :)

HomeworkSpanish folders will be coming home for the last time on Wednesday with all of student's graded Unit 8 work and an optional review of Unit 8 (no need to return). If your child's folder is still in good shape, please consider keeping it for next year! :)

Other Important Info: For the fiesta, we will finish our movie, I will bring in some treats to share with the class and students can work on some crafts! Students are also welcome to bring their own treats to share, but they MUST come with an ingredient list as we do have serious food allergies! Thank you for helping me keep our students safe! Students may also wear their PJs and bring ONE stuffy to cuddle with during the movie. I am looking forward to celebrating a successful trimester with my students!

As always, thank you for reading and for a wonderful trimester with your student! :) I will never forget the wonderful Stargate community as I continue my career back in Ohio! Have a great summer!!!
