2017 ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 Score Changes

To meet language demands of college- and career-ready state standards, WIDA is raising the bar for language proficiency. Students will need to demonstrate higher language skills in 2016–2017 to achieve the same proficiency level scores (1.0–6.0). The changes in ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 scores in 2017 are expected to impact students in the following ways:

  • Some students' scores may go down
  • Fewer students may exit program support

Please check to review the following resources to support you in interpreting these score changes:

  • Video and Discussion Guide
  • Recorded webinars
  • PowerPoint slides

  • Parent/Family flyer translated into 47 languages

As always, please let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns with these new changes.
