Week of December 14

I hope you all have a restful, fun-filled winter break.

This week we will finish Dynamic Earth Unit, The Restless Earth.  The idea of this unit is the movement of tectonic plates accounts for important features of Earth's surface and major geologic events.
Monday: Quiz on Lesson 5. Check homework. Watch NOVA program "Deadliest Earthquakes".
Tuesday: Earthquake Vibrations lab.
Wednesday: Quiz on Lesson 6. Check homework. NOVA video on the seismograph.
Thursday: Unit 4 Restless Earth Party. Students received instructions on the project on Friday. This project is instead of a test. Please see the attached file below.
                Students may complete a volcano for extra credit.  They need to make a video and send it to me. Link to activity.  http://www.thenakedscientists.com/HTML/experiments/exp/flour-volcano/ 
Friday: No School.  Winter break begins. 

All missing assignments pertaining to The Dynamic Earth Unit 4 are due this Thursday, December 17. This is the end of the semester.
