We had a great first week of school!  We spent last week getting to know each other through games such as Starting Line Up and Oh No! 99!  Ask your child how to play Oh No! 99!  All you'll need is a deck of cards.  Students also took their fall MAPS assessments.
This week we will dive into the math books and begin our first area of study.
Period 3
Monday:  Students will take a pre-test over decimal computation.  This involves adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing decimals. Homework: Bring in a white board marker by Wednesday.
Tuesday:  I will pass out math books.  We will begin the year with Unit 3, Compute with Multi-Digit Numbers.  We will begin with adding and subtracting decimals.Homework: p. 181-182
Wednesday: Multiply by powers of 10. Homework: powers of 10 worksheet
Thursday: Estimate products. Homework: p. 189-190
Friday: Multiply decimals by whole. Homework: p. 197
Period 4
Monday: Students will take a pre-test over decimal computation.  I want to be sure they have a firm understanding of adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing decimals.Homework: Bring in a white board marker by Wednesday.
Tuesday-Friday:  These days will depend on how students do on the pre-test.  I will either do a quick review of decimal computation or students will be working on a project called Colorado Vacation. I will give you an update on Tuesday.

Currently I do not have access to Infinite Campus.  I will let you know when I do receive access.
