Welcome to another year of school!  Where did the summer go?

This week in science we will begin our unit on Introduction to Science. All students received their textbooks for this unit on Monday.  These books will be used for homework so the students will be writing in these books. All homework can be found on the calendar at the bottom of my page and will be updated daily.

On Monday, students turned in their signed Student Safety Contracts.  The students are expected to uphold these safety rules during class and all labs.  If a student breaks a rule during a lab, they will be asked to remove themselves from the class and will receive a zero on the lab.  They also took the Science Safety test on Monday.  My expectation is that all students receive a 100% on the test.  They will be allowed to retake the test until they receive the 100%, but will not be allowed to participate in a lab until they receive the 100% and will have to complete an alternate activity. Safety is of utmost importance during a lab.

This week we will look at what is science and pseudoscience vs. science.  On Friday we will complete a lab that focuses on these topics.
