This week we will only have class on Monday and Tuesday as the 6th graders will be going to Keystone on Wednesday through Friday.

On Monday students will share their vocabulary graffiti word and receive a list of Holes vocabulary.  We will read and discuss chapter 5 and choose a nickname to go by while reading the novel.
On Tuesday vocabulary 2 words are due and we will go over them in class to be sure all definitions are correct.  I have changed the vocabulary requirements for literacy.  Period 5 will receive one new word a day for a total of 5 by the next Tuesday, and Period 6 will receive 5 words on Wednesday to complete.  Definitions will be due a week after they were assigned. The test will still be two weeks after receiving the words. The test over vocabulary 2 will be next Wednesday, September 24.  Please be sure your child is learning the definitions.  Students will also read Holes chapters 6-14.

Students should be working on their Writer's Notebooks at home.  This is a place to record thoughts, ideas, pondering, wondering, observations, etc. They need to write in it 2 times a week for 10 minutes (Period 5) or 20 minutes (Period 6) each time.  The notebook will be due September 26.  They should have 10 entries.

I will put all homework assignments on my calendar at the bottom of the page. Please check it daily. If you cannot see the calendar, have your child look at their Google calendars as I have shared my assignment calendar with them.

I now have access to Infinite Campus.  Please check it for current grades and missing assignments.
