This week students will continue working on their final writing project of the year by continuing to create their own superhero comic book.  This week we will be focusing on the final draft which should be a complete story told with writing, color, neatness, best effort, high quality (drawings to your best effort, proofread, proper grammar, etc.).  We talked about the fact  that the character will need to be drawn many times so they should not be too detailed. The comic book is due at the end of class on May 13. We will then share our comics on May 15.

Students can  bring in their own comic books to show us examples.

Students should be working on their Writer's Notebooks at home.  This is a place to record thoughts, ideas, pondering, wondering, observations, etc. They need to write in it 2 times a week for 10 minutes (Period 5), which should consist of at least half a page, or 20 minutes (Period 6), which should consist of a page, each time. The next due date is this Thursday, May 7.  They should have 15 more entries for a total of 60 entries.

All missing assignments are due Friday, May 15.  After that date I will not accept any assignments.

We will not have class on Friday due to the teacher professional day.

Students will have the end of year math PARCC testing on Wednesday from 11:00-12:30 and Thursday from 7:45-9:15.

I will put all homework assignments on my calendar at the bottom of the page. Please check it daily. If you cannot see the calendar, have your child look at their Google calendars as I have shared my assignment calendar with them.
