We need field trips, carnival night, Chili/Bingo night, Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Cross Country, band, orchestra, dances, parties, Movie night, Night of the Notables and anything else that happened this year that you caught in pictures.
Deadline is this Friday, March 11th.
Also if you haven't ordered your yearbook yet, all orders need to go through Zandra in the front office. That deadline is March 15th.

PARCC testing schedule:
March 14: 6th grade literacy 1, 1:15-3:05 (Students will have only Period 3 in the morning.)
March 15: 6th grade literacy 2, 1:15-3:05(Students will have only Period 5 in the morning.)
March 16: 6th grade literacy 3, 11:45-1:15 (Students will have only Period 4 in the morning.They will have lunch from 11:00-11:40 this day.)
March 28: 6th grade math 1, 1:45-3:05 (Students will have only Period 6 in the morning.)
March 29: 6th grade math 2, 1:45-3:05(Students will have only Period 3 in the morning.)
March 30: 6th grade math 3, 11:45-1:15 (Students will have only Period 5 in the morning.They will have lunch from 11:00-11:40 this day.)
The schedule will be adjusted these days to a block schedule so that students are not always missing 6th period. Please plan appointments around testing times.  Thank you!

Students need to take the 6th grade PARCC English Language Arts/Literacy practice test, parts 1 and 2.  At the end of the test they need to print the last page and get your signature.  This is due tomorrow, March 15 and they will receive a responsibility grade for completing it. You cannot use Chrome to take the practice test; you must use another browser. http://parcc.pearson.com/practice-tests/english/

Monday:     No lit due to PARCC testing.
Tuesday:    Period 5: Work on Dogsong chapters 1-3 and meet with lit circle.  Work on lit circle jobs for chapters 4-5, which are due on Thursday.  No Period 6 lit due to PARCC                           testing.
Wednesday: No lit due to PARCC testing.
Thursday:     Period 5:  Dogsong chapter 4-5 lit circle job due, and students will meet with their group and discuss.  They will begin reading chapters 6-9 and begin their new job.
                    Period 6:  Dogsong chapter 1-3 lit circle job due, and students will meet with their group and discuss.  They will begin reading chapters 4-5 and begin their new job.
Friday:          Period 5: Work on lit circle jobs for chapters 6-9. Due on Monday.
                    Period 6: Work on lit circle jobs for chapters 4-5. Due on Monday.

Students need to continue writing in their home writer's notebook.  As a reminder, this is a place to record thoughts, ideas, pondering, wondering, observations, etc. They need to write in it 2 times a week for 20 minutes each time, which should consist of a page. They may also type their entries, but the typed pages must be 12 point font, and cut neatly and glued or taped into the notebook.  The next due date is Friday, May 13.  They should have 15 more entries for a total of 60 entries.
