This week we are continuing the writing portion of our short stories unit.

Monday: Work on describing the setting of a short story.  Continue to work on rough draft of story.
Tuesday: Work on describing the conflict and theme of a short story.  Continue to work on rough draft of story.
Wednesday: Grammar quiz on comma placement.
Thursday: Work on writing strong introductions and conclusion for a short story.  Begin typing the rough draft.
Friday: Type the rough draft of their short story.  These are to be shared with me by the end of class.

Students need to continue writing in their home writer's notebook.  As a reminder, this is a place to record thoughts, ideas, pondering, wondering, observations, etc. They need to write in it 2 times a week for 20 minutes each time, which should consist of a page. They may also type their entries, but the typed pages must be cut neatly and glued or taped into the notebook.  The next due date is Friday, March 4.  They should have 15 more entries for a total of 45 entries.

I will put all homework assignments on my calendar at the bottom of the page. Please check it daily.
