Thank you all for joining me at parent teacher conferences last week! It was so nice meeting with you and discussing how well your child is doing in my class. This week, we will continue working on Unit 2 material. We will review Chapter 2, take our Chapter 2 test, and work through math problems involving estimation. As a warm up, we will continue playing our Addition/Subtraction Math Race. We are getting closer and closer to the finish line!

Due to our scheduled field trip, we will be missing one day of math class this week. That being said, the students will receive their workbook pages on Wednesday and they will not be due until Friday.

Again, here are some games your child can play at home to better prepare them for their math race...

*Math Fact Basketball
*Alien Addition
*Jet Ski Addition
*Tug Boat Addition
*Island Chase Subtraction

Dinner Table Talking Points

We know that kids often say they have nothing to talk about when asked about their day at school. Here are a few suggestions to help get them talking about what they learned and experienced this week. Ask your child...

1. To tell you their FlipQuiz review game.

2. To tell you about their field trip.

3. To tell you how their Chapter 2 test went.

4. To tell you what the estimated answer is to 457 + 865.
