This week we will continue working through Unit 2. We will race through our addition and subtraction math facts, determine the best time to use a part-whole or a comparison model, and analyze different sums/differences using greater than, less than, or equal to.

Again, here are some games your child can play at home to better prepare them for their math race...

*Math Fact Basketball
*Alien Addition
*Jet Ski Addition
*Tug Boat Addition
*Island Chase Subtraction

I look forward to seeing all of you at conferences! :)

Dinner Table Talking Points

We know that kids often say they have nothing to talk about when asked about their day at school. Here are a few suggestions to help get them talking about what they learned and experienced this week. Ask your child...

1. To tell you the difference between a part and a whole in a math problem.

2. To tell you about their self evaluation sheet.

3. To tell you what level they are on in their math race.

4. To tell you if the sum of 46+12 is >, <, or = 70.
