I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving break! :)

This week we will be reviewing one and two step multiplication/division word problems, taking our Chapter 2 test, and multiplying by tens and hundreds using number discs. Because of the field trip schedule, we will not have math class on Thursday, December 1st.

As a reflection to the class as a whole, I have noticed that my students are not as confident in their division facts as their multiplication facts. I would like to encourage all of you to work on these at home with your child. This will certainly help boost their confidence as we move along into trickier multiplication and division problems. There are many sections on IXL that will assist students in this area as well as the resources below. Please let me know if you have any questions about this.

Dinner Table Talking Points

We know that kids often say they have nothing to talk about when asked about their day at school. Here are a few suggestions to help get them talking about what they learned and experienced this week. Ask your child...

1. To tell you what a "product" is.

2. To tell you how they think they did on their Chapter 2 test.

3. To tell you how well they enjoyed their field trip to the Boulder Dinner Theater to see "Cinderella".

4. To show you how well they know their multiplication/division facts.
