This week, we will finish working with thesauruses. The student will create a venn diagram comparing and contrasting dictionaries and thesauruses and create a "thesaurus rex" to demonstrate their understanding of how to use a thesaurus correctly.

We will dive into a realistic fiction novel as class and continue working on various topics on reading group. The students will be responsible for their reading log for the week. It will be due on Friday, March 24th. The students will receive a new spelling list but will not be responsible for a spelling menu. Their next spelling test will not be until Friday, April 7th

Dinner Table Talking Points

We know that kids often say they have nothing to talk about when asked about their day at school. Here are a few suggestions to help get them talking about what they learned and experienced this week. Ask your child...

1. To tell you why we use dictionaries.

2. To tell you why we use thesauruses.

3. To give you one synonym and one antonym for the word "happy".

4. To tell you about the class read aloud book for their realistic fiction unit.

5. To tell you what their favorite thing about Spring is.
