This week we will be spending a lot of time on writing (focusing the majority on editing, revising, and proofreading).

As a class, we have learned that it is always best to go back and reread your work multiple times. It seems to be a lot of extra time that the kiddos aren't necessarily wanting to put in. This is a habit we are working on breaking. Please feel free to have your child work through the writing process at home as well. This could be done with their independent creative writing in a journal or on their weekly summary for their reading log.

The students will be receiving a new spelling list this week. Their next test will be on Wednesday, May 3rd. The students will be responsible for their Reading Log this week. This will be due this Friday, April 28th.

Dinner Table Talking Points

We know that kids often say they have nothing to talk about when asked about their day at school. Here are a few suggestions to help get them talking about what they learned and experienced this week. Ask your child...

1. To tell you about their passion project.

2. To tell you about the character they are creating for their realistic fiction narrative.

3. To tell you about Expo Day! :)

4. To tell you about the "setting" in their own narrative that they are writing.
