Snowy Monday greetings,
Students will be MAPS testing this week to see how they have improved since fall. Each 5/6 teacher has an assigned time for all students to complete the 2 Literacy segments and 1 math. My scheduled time is Thursday.
I thoroughly enjoyed the 2nd Lloyd Alexander group presentations! It's still amazing to me how differently the students display their knowledge earned. This really takes advantage of their creativity and strengths. For the next 2-3 days we will be doing an in-depth comparison and critique of the author, using all 3 books the students read. I would like to do it all during classtime as we are sharing just a few copies of each book.
I would like to have a Lloyd Alexander party at the end of the week to celebrate the end of the unit. I will be asking the students ideas of what we might do.
Next up we will explore a little more poetry.
