Happy March and another round of snow! Hurray!
The students received their writers' notebooks back today. I enjoyed reading them. The main genre I found was science fiction, 2nd was fantasy. We'll see if that changes after reading their first lit circle book from Lloyd Alexander. The goal is to finish the book this week, so they can start thinking about choosing their presentation topic. These include such things as an original skit, readers theatre, collage, newscast, interview a character, to name a few.  I will be getting a rubric together, but most likely the group lit circle presentation will be due the first week after spring break. We are continuing to review grammar, and also a bit of poetry. They have already been assigned their 2nd lit circle book, so if they can read that during TCAP weeks that would be ideal. They are also required to read one other Alexander book on their own, and TCAP would be a good time to read that also. I have a small selection of books to check out for their 3rd book, and they are also free to get one from the public library or on e-books.
