I hope everyone had a great weekend. It was fun seeing everyone dressed up for the Gala on Saturday, hopefully you won what you bid on :)

L2-  We will continue to work on our Poetry Bingo (reading a variety of works by a variety of poets) this week as well as write a few originals of our own.  We will be doing Haiku, Tanka, Diamante, Cinquain, Color, Autobiographical, and Sonnets this week.  We will also be selecting a poem to memorize for our Poetry Statues.

We also talked last week about the Summer Reading Advertisement Program - their choice book that they are going to review and present to us.  Since it is testing season and the only options are read and sleep when they have finished testing before time is up, I have shared with the students that they will be reading a book that they haven't read before but wanted to read to recommend to us in April/May.  The only requirements are that the book must be one that they have not read before, it has at least 250 pages and I approve it.  They need to bring the book in for approval by the end of the week.  Once they have finished the book, they will be creating a Prezi on the book, however there will be more to come on that as we get into April.

L3- We finished our last Inquiry movie/prototype today.  The kiddos have done an amazing job and chosen some fantastic problems to tackle.  Our next unit is Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.  We will be doing some introductory activities this week and possibly start reading this Friday.  This will be a fun unit.
