I hope everyone had a wonderful break and was able to spend time with family and friends.  We battled some respiratory bug at our house but were still able to eat some yummy turkey and get to spend some time with family.

If you are coming with us to see the Broadway Christmas Carol I need to know if you are planning to ride the bus with us or drive your own car.  There are many other events going on on campus at CU and parking may be an issue.  Everyone riding the bus needs to be to school, dressed in your theatre finery, by 6:00 pm.  The busses will leave at 6:15pm to make sure we get there in plenty of time to walk to the theatre and get our seats. You can have your parents meet us back at school between 10:15 and 10:30pm.  I'm looking forward to seeing you in all your best and to seeing how this interpretation of A Christmas Carol plays out.

Next Friday is our field trip to see The Giver.  Please make sure to get your signed permission slip in.  All 7th graders have been included in this because those students that were in my class last year also read this book and their 3rd and 4th hours will be impacted with most of their classmates and teachers gone on the field trip.  Anyone not going to see the movie will have an alternate assignment at school.  We will return to school at 12:30 so afternoon classes will be as normal.  The 8th graders are also gone on a field trip that day so morning classes may be additionally impacted.

L2-We will finish reading A Christmas Carol this week and start on our Alternate Reality or Not assignment.  Please share the assignment information with your parents.

L3-We will finish working on our persuasive editorials this week and begin presenting them on Friday.

Both classes have their vocab quiz on Wednesday and have 27 WN entries due 12/7.  Please remember that to get credit for the entries they must be at least 20 minutes of quality writing.  I have idea books if you need a jolt in your creative juices.

As we near the end of the semester, please look at your grades in IC and notice any missing or not filled in grades.  If it does not say "turned in" , it has not been turned in and you need to do that or receive the 0 for the assignment.  I will be marking missing assignments with M in IC and this will calculate a 0 for the assignment and your grade will drop.  Better get any missing work turned in before that happens.
