About Me
Welcome to TEAM P!!!! Where team work and sportsmanship is our focus!
I am so excited about my third year at Stargate. Last year was an amazing year!  This is my sixth year of teaching. I have previously taught
4th grade, and kindergarten at another charter school.

As for education, I graduated from Cal State Northridge with my bachelor's degree in Family Consumer Science and Interior Design. Previous to teaching, I was an interior designer. I think this contributes to my very creative and visual environment. Next, I went onto Cal Baptist University to receive my teaching credential. I now have my dream job to inspire the beautiful minds of our future leaders!

Outside of the classroom, I am very passionate about sports, Bronco's and our Colorado Rockies! I love to attend any sports events. You will see with my theme in the classroom that "Teamwork" is vital to a successful classroom. I was a competitive gymnast for over ten years, and then went onto to be a gymnastics coach through college. That is were I found my passion for working with children! I like to use positive reinforcement and build my students up as I did in coaching. My goal is to help them reach their goals, and even exceed them in academics, and social growth in my class.

My beautiful family includes my amazing husband Jimmy and my two little girls. Jenna is 5 years old, and will be attending Stargate next year for kindergarten. Harper is 8 years old and she is going to be at Stargate in the third grade. As a family we love to go camping, boating, competition dance, snowboarding, movies, sports games, and we love anything Disney!

What I Love about Teaching
My favorite thing about teaching is about challenging students to their full potential. That is why I am so excited to work with our talented G.A.T.E students. My strategy to helping students reaching their goals is to make learning fun, and hands on! I am a very high energy teacher that loves to create an experience for the children that will stick with them forever.

Blogging:
I will be creating three blogs (which are highlighted below) weekly.  They cover the current topics we're studying, upcoming assessments, and weekly homework enjoyment for all three classes: Theme(Homeroom), Literary, and Math.  You can automatically receive the blogs that pertain to you by subscribing to them on the blog pages!

Grading:
I keep all grades on Infinite Campus which you can access from the main menu.  I will email you if I notice a significant amount of missing assignments or if I have any concerns.  And please feel free to email me if you have any questions pertaining to grading and/or Infinite Campus.

Other important information:
We have a class pet! Our class pet is two tropical tree frogs! One of them is a red eyed tree frog. Think of some fun names for them, we are going to name them the first week of school! I am a big advocate for animals. Last year, my class adopted an endangered animal! I am looking forward to some ideas that we can do as a class this year!
