Wow! Just before break the kids did some fun videos on The Bill of Rights. We have some amazing movie producers and some absolutely hilarious kiddos. (We also have some future politicians and lawyers in our midst!) Over break I had a chance to grade their workbooks. As a reminder, all of the assigned portions of the Unit need to be complete before the due dates. Students are given plenty of forewarning about due dates. While most of their workbook can be completed in class, if there are any incomplete sections, they need to be done for homework prior to the due date.

This week...
Monday 1/7 - no school
Tuesday 1/8 - Geography challenge & Critical Thinking for Unit 4; Vocabulary for Washington's Inaugural speech (vocab due Wednesday - definitions only)
Wednesday 1/9 - Presidential Inaugural Speeches (Washington, Lincoln, Kennedy, Obama) Vocab due.
Thursday 1/10 - Analyze the presidential speeches for common themes and new ideas
Friday 1/11 - present group analysis

Coming up...
As we move West our country faces many challenges both foreign and domestic. We will look at how our country expanded (No, we will NOT be doing a "gold rush" simulation!)
We will be going to the 2nd District Court at the end of the month to watch a jury selection and opening arguments for the Honorable Brian Whitney. Permission slips will be coming home later this week.
