Week of December 1

Welcome back from Thanksgiving break. I hope that everyone had a restful break. Prior to break we conducted a Mock Senate. Students did a great job of writing legislation and arguing for constituents. This week we will be working on the Bill of Rights. These first ten amendments to the Constitution were critical for establish the rights of citizens. 

Monday - debrief the Senate and talk about the Bill of Rights )homework 10.2 and 10.3)
Tuesday - The First Amendment  and the landmark case Tinker v. DesMoine and Wallace v. Jafree
Wednesday - Second and Third Amendments
Thursday- Fourth Amendment  and the landmark case New Jersey v. TLO
Friday- Fifth Amendment and the landmark case Board of Education v. Earls

Test over Chapter 9 and 10 (The Constitution and The Bill of Rights) is December 11. We will be doing additional work on the Constitution, The Bill of Rights and Branches of Government in second semester.
