April 13 -15: Finish Personal Financial Literacy unit. Focus on budget, understanding needs vs. wants, prioritizing and long term planning
April 16 & 17: chapter 21; The causes of the Civil War. We will look at the economic, political and moral issues that led to the deadliest war in American History.
This week kiddos were given their Civil War assignments and uniforms. Friday will be spent marching, learning our roles and understanding the re-enactment.

April 20 - April 24
Monday: Field trip to Finance Park. After the field trip we will debrief key standards including investing, spending, earning power, credit, taxes and budget.
Tuesday and Wednesday and Friday: Chapter 21; As the American economy is growing and more states are being admitted, trouble is brewing and the issue of states' rights becomes more and more divisive. Students will be looking at the diverse issues that divided America and those that held our nation together. We will look at the rise of key political figures and decision makers and at the massive changes geopolitical changes that we went through in a very short amount of time. Study guides due Friday, April 24.
Thursday: Civil War Re-enactment. Soldiers need to bring a water bottle, sack lunch, and sunscreen. They need to wear long pants (jeans are perfect). 
Note: Thursday is Take Your Child to Work Day. If students are not going to be in school on Thursday, please let the front office and me know so that we can adjust the simulation.
