We will be finishing our work on To Kill a Mockingbird. While we moved through this book quickly, I hope that kiddos gained an appreciation for the timelessness of the story, the power of Harper Lee's writing and many issues and themes in this story. Their projects for this story are very open ended. After brainstorming many of the themes in the story, their task is to choose a theme or message that spoke to them and teach the rest of the class about the theme and how it relates to the kiddo and the novel. A Writer's memo explaining this is required.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday = Work days
Friday - Field trip to the courthouse

Monday - 12/15 - Present projects
Tuesday - 12/16 Finish presenting projects and begin the Movie (To Kill a Mockingbird, starring Gregory Peck. The film is not rated)
Wednesday & Friday - Finish the movie
Thursday - Field trip to the Silk Road exhibit at the museum
