I hope everyone enjoyed their Veteran's Day holiday. I am grateful for those of my friends and family who have served in all of the armed forced, for those family members who held down the fort while they were deployed and for all of those in our community who do the same. My sincerest gratitude.

Here's what's coming up..

We are concluding our research and presentations on the immigrant experience and will be starting our books next week. Students have been researching their own ethnic roots to understand the challenges that immigrants face as they try to assimilate themselves into American culture and maintain their own cultural traditions. Overall each group has done tremendous work.

Tues, November 12 - finalize research and present
Wed, November 13 - Vocab test over phobias
Thurs, November 14 - finish presentations and learn about Ellis Island
Fri, November 15 - Research and write script for their silent movie telling their immigrant's story

Mon, November 18 - Finish writing their scripts, gathering props, etc
Tues, November 19 - Film and edit movies (8th graders will be at Career Fair so students will have an altered schedule)
Wed, November 20 - book Talk/ selection
Thur, November 21 - THANKSGIVING - a celebration of cultures. Students will bring food from their culture to share movies
