Welcome back! We will be starting off second semester with the conclusion of the Trojan War. Just before winter break we lost our Greek Hero, Achilles. We will finish up the book by building the famous Trojan Horse, sacking the city of Troy and dispersing the remaining characters.
Next we will begin our research papers and Quests. Eighth graders will be doing and Inquiry Quest - research and present a topic of their choosing. Seventh graders will be researching a topic related to their study of Ancient Rome.

Week of January 9
Monday - Notes and conversation about the Hero's Journey
Tuesday - Quiz (second half of the book and an essay over one of the themes of book  - The Price of Pride, Do the needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few, etc)
Wednesday - no regular classes (Second Step study skills)
Thursday- Understanding our Inquiry Quest and research papers
Friday - Preliminary research on our guiding questions.

As we begin to work on our research papers and Quests, students may bring their own electronic devices. They bring them at their own risk. I am happy to keep them in my room if they do not have room in their lockers. Electronic devices should be charged and in working order.
