Wow! it has been great watching the spectacular work that kids have done on the Inquiry Projects. We have seen some great research and story telling. Thank you to everyone for your hard work and support.

We are heading into the home stretch so I want to give everyone an idea of what's ahead.

Coming up in Language Arts...
This week we finished Inquiry Projects and started our conversations about Biographies. Kids will be getting their books Friday or Monday. All of our biographies focus on the time period of WWII. This was an important time in history and students find the biographies to be focused and very compelling. However, this was also a difficult time for many people and some of the stories are quite tragic. Students have all had the chance to look at the books and have been asked to choose wisely based on their own interests and sensitivities. If they find that they don't like a book for any reason, they can choose another. If parents have concerns or would like to redirect their child's choices, they can contact me (email works best).

Next week - April 22
We will be reading our biographies and taking MAPs assessments.  On Thursday, we will not have regular classes because of the Move for MS

Week of April 29
We will be finishing our books and working in book groups on the Projects. No Class on Wednesday because of Field Day. No School on Friday because of Teacher Workday.

Week of May 6 -
8th grade Presentations - Students will also be finishing their group projects and have some time in the Lab to work on their last paper. (They should be able to write and edit this paper in class).
