Mrs. Walls

About Me

My name is Melanie Walls. The 2017-2018 school year will be my second year as a teacher at Stargate, but I have been apart of the Stargate community for many years. I attended Stargate School as a student for my 4th - 8th grade years and returned after high school to work as a site leader for Eagle's Landing and as a substitute teacher.

My educational background includes a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction both from the University of Colorado Denver. In addition to my elementary teaching license, I hold endorsements in Special Education and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education. It is my goal to work towards earning an endorsement in Gifted Education as well.

In my free time, I enjoy cooking, baking, playing tennis, and playing board games. I also love to spend time with my husband, Joe, and our 11 year old Sheltie, Sophie. I am thrilled for this school year and to begin my teaching career at Stargate!

Blogging:
I will be creating three blogs (literacy, math, and theme) which will be updated weekly. This update will include what we're focusing on in class, important dates, and other happenings at Stargate. All of my blogs support RSS, so you can watch just the blogs that interest you by subscribing to them on the blog pages.

Grading:
I keep all grades on Infinite Campus which you can access from the menu. Grades will be updated weekly.  If the score is blank, the assignment has not yet been entered. If you have any questions or concerns regarding grades whatsoever, please feel free to contact me.
